FAQs

I’ve never talked to anyone. I’m used to handling things on my own. How do I know when it’s time to reach out for help?

People who ask for help realize their own ideas and solutions are not working. Everyone needs help now and then. In our work together, I’ll help you explore and identify your strengths and how to implement them to reduce the influence of the problems you are facing.

How does it work? What do I have to do in sessions?

Because each person has different issues and goals for counseling, it will be different depending on the individual. I tailor my therapeutic approach to your specific needs.

How often will we meet? How long do services typically last?

Initially, I typically meet with clients once a week. Over time, we assess together the frequency that best supports your goals. Our work continues as long as you find my service beneficial. Some clients work with me for a few months, while others benefit from longer-term therapy. Ultimately, your progress determines the right path forward.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes, confidentiality is a priority in my practice. Information shared during sessions is kept confidential, adhering to legal and ethical standards. There are, however, some exceptions to confidentiality such as child abuse reporting, elder and dependent adult abuse reporting and patients that are dangerous to themselves or others. You can refer to my Notice of Privacy Practices and Practice Policies that are provided prior to the start of therapy.

If you have additional questions or need further clarification, feel free to contact my office. I am here to support you on your journey toward mental and emotional wellness.
