The decision to begin therapy can be daunting, but it is also incredibly empowering. You may just feel derailed by life and don’t know why. Perhaps a major life transition is throwing you a curve and you need help navigating the change. When the ability to function at your best is impeded by stress, irritability, sadness, fear or anxiety you may feel “stuck”.

"When we deny the story, it defines us.
When we own the story, we can write a brave new ending."
~ Brené Brown ~

Everyone has battles to fight and hurdles to overcome at some point. Whether you struggle with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, addiction, or any other issue, you should know that there is hope for to overcome problems that may be holding you hostage.

You might be initially hesitant to seek out help and support for personal matters. That is not unusual. My focus is to generate an authentic therapeutic connection in a non-judgmental setting. I seek to normalize rather than pathologize. When you are ready, you can feel confident your courageous step towards getting help is the start to creating a “brave new ending”.

Meet Mary Lou Devlin

I create an authentic and collaborative environment to help clients feel free to be vulnerable and achieve identified goals. Our work takes shape in a non-judgmental and nurturing space to explore the manifestation of troubling issues. I encourage honest self-appraisal. Ideally, this improves the client’s insight into their challenges. A new perspective leads to problem resolution, progress and, ultimately, change.

I take a holistic, pragmatic approach to therapy. The relationship created between the client and therapist is vital for the therapeutic process and positive treatment outcome. Therapy is strengths-based and offers reasonable guidance and solutions. My approach is interactional, respectful and directive.
